Draft: awaiting approval

This text is a draft. It is not yet approved and is not legal advice. The open questions below are for the operator to answer before it is published.

  1. Operator: Bob Greenyer, contact through RemoteView.ICU, with no postal address or e-mail on the site (the operator's choice, 2026-10-11). To confirm: that this is enough for a non-commercial UK site run by an individual (the E-Commerce Regulations 2002 ask a geographic address of services normally provided for payment).
  2. Code licence: PolyForm Shield 1.0.0 (chosen 2026-10-11); its text is the LICENSE file at the root of the repository (added 2026-10-12).
  3. Outputs (D-12, decided 2026-10-11): volunteers give the project all rights in their takes; published dubs are CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The consent form should say the speaker agrees to that licence for the dubs of their talk.
  4. The volunteer agreement: a draft is published as its own page (version 2026-10); its open questions are there.
  5. Talks: the wording on rights is confirmed (2026-10-11); confirm that each talk shown has the speaker's and organiser's agreement.
  6. Model and software licences: the plans list Apache-2.0 for the voice models' cards and MIT for Whisper, each still to be confirmed upstream (T-128, T-132). Confirm before they are listed here.
  7. Liability and takedown: whether to include a disclaimer, and its wording. Complaints and removal requests now go through the site's own forms (the operator's choice, 2026-10-11); confirm the wording of that section.
  8. The project's public name (the site uses the configured name until it is chosen).

Who runs this site

LinguaForge is run by Bob Greenyer, an individual in the United Kingdom, not through a company.

Contact: through RemoteView.ICU.

The site and its job server are hosted by IONOS on a virtual private server in an EU data centre.

The talks and the dubs

The talks belong to their speakers and organisers; the videos are published on YouTube. The dubs are made with AI-generated voices and are labelled as such. A speaker's own voice is copied only with the speaker's written consent.
